Notifications and contacts for students

Notifications and contacts from the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology are displayed on School website or performed by e-mail as a rule. For announcements made by the Student Center or by the Foreign Student Center, please check KOAN panel.

Subjects that cannot be displayed on the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology website may be notified by using panels below. In this case they will be notified separately.

The administrative office for students is the graduates section.

How to obtain documents

  • As a rule, documents necessary for general procedures are posted on Graduate School of Information Science and Technology website in PDF format. Please download and fill them as you need.
    Documents not posted can be requested by e-mail to the graduates section.
  • Some documents may be distributed by Major Chiefs or within laboratories if necessary. In these cases, notifications are performed separately.



Class operation in the case of suspension of transportation services, etc.

In case that transportation services are suspended due to strikes or so on, only in case that Hankyu lines do not operate among student commutation routes, classes will be performed as following,:

Suspension cancellation time

Class operation

If suspension is cancelled before 6 a.m.

Class will operate all day

If suspension is cancelled before 9 a.m.

Classes will operate in the afternoon

If suspension is still not cancelled after 9 a.m.

Classes are suspended all day



Class operation in case of weather warning issuance

In the case of a "Storm Warning" [boufuu-keihou] or a "emergency warning" [tokubetsu-keihou] being issued for Toyonaka, Suita, Ibaraki and/or Minoh, classes will be canceled. However, depending upon the time such warning is canceled, classes will be held or not held for all schools (including classes at the Institute for Higher Education Research and Practice) as noted below:

All classes will be held as usual

If the warning is canceled by 9 a.m.

Afternoon classes will be held

If the warning is NOT canceled by 9 a.m.(*)

Classes will be canceled for the day

* Important note: In the case of the School of Foreign Studies , the "Studies in Language and Society and Studies in Japanese Language and Culture" of the Graduate School of Language and Culture, if the warning is canceled by 3:00 p.m., 6th and 7th period classes will be held. Students in the United Graduate School of Child Development will be contacted by email regarding classes.

Furthermore, please note:

Severe weather warnings are broadcast on the radio, TV, and internet.

If one of the warnings is issued while classes are in session, all classes coming after the one which was canceled will also be canceled.

Student ID card issuance and re-issuance

Student ID cards are issued at the newcomers' guidance meeting. Validity periods are the standard completion years (2 years for the master program, and 3 years for the doctor program).
Student ID cards for students still enrolled after the end of the completion period are issued through laboratories.

For student ID cards reissuance (due to loss, damage, magnetic defects, etc.), please apply directly to the place below:
