I am engaged in research that aims to generate useful information for daily life by analyzing data collected from various sensors installed in smartphones and UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). In my research focusing on human subjects, I introduce sensors integrated into small devices like smartphones to track human behaviors and infer the individual's surrounding environment. In addition to understanding urban scenarios, my work seeks to assess the damage and scale of disasters quickly. I have developed a coordinated strategy for multiple UAVs equipped with ranging sensors to survey targeted areas to achieve this efficiently. We have also devised methods to interpret point cloud data collected by these ranging sensors solely using the onboard computational capabilities of the UAVs. This enables us to develop a sensing infrastructure that captures the presence and shape of various objects in urban areas through high-precision 3D maps. Through these technologies, I aim to assist in understanding the surrounding environment during disasters, thus contributing to safer and more efficient evacuation and aid efforts.
