Fast algorithms for databases, data mining, and machine learning

In the era of big data, every object can be data, and the volume of data is increasing. Many applications require efficient retrieval techniques that can find only necessary data from big data, so we devise efficient and effective data retrieval and mining techniques. Specifically, we focus on multi-dimensional (or high-dimensional) data and design theoretically and practically fast algorithms (e.g., for query processing, clustering, and outlier detection). Furthermore, we deal with dynamic data, e.g., IoT data, and develop monitoring techniques so that many domains can employ our techniques.
