Theme
Information Communication Infrastructure for Robots and Avatars
In our lab, we are engaged in the research and development of cybernetic avatars, networked robots, and sensor networks. The concept of a cybernetic avatar involves teleoperated robots or CG avatars controlled remotely as surrogates, along with the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and robotics technologies that enhance the user's body, cognition, and perceptual abilities to realize this concept. Our focus is on studying semi-autonomous teleoperated robots/CG avatars combined with artificial intelligence (AI), and the corresponding information and communication infrastructure. The goal is to create a society where everyone, including the elderly and individuals with disabilities, can actively participate through multiple cybernetic avatars.
