Theme

Bioimage Informatics

In recent years, various data have become available in the field of biology, and analysis techniques based on information science have become important for analyzing large amounts of data. In addition, recent developments in microscopy and other technologies have made it possible to "see" various things that could not be observed before. Bioinformatics is a field which applies information science technology to life science, and bioimage informatics is one of the subfields that focuses on the analysis of microscopic images and other biological images. As well as information science, image analysis technology is a field that has made great progress in recent years, and the fusion of these fields is expected to lead to biological discoveries and the establishment of new image analysis methods. I am conducting research on methods of image analysis from the viewpoint of information science for these various types of biological images.
