Theme
Metabolic Engineering
Bioprocesses for production of chemicals and fuels using microorganisms are recognized as significantly important as processes with low environmental impact. By constructing models based on genome information, I have developed a technology to design metabolism /in silico /in order to effectively produce the target substance. I am researching methods to experimentally determine the metabolic flux by isotope-labeled compound tracing experiments. Furthermore, in order to create robust cells for the bioprocesses, I am studying how to make microorganisms stress resistant by integrating omics information and evolutionary engineering.
