Self-Organized Congestion Control for Future Wireless Networks

5G/6G is expected to advance Internet of Things (IoT) and autonomous driving.
In these new applications, various devices connect to the Internet or communicate with each other to obtain information and cooperatively behave.
For example, massive machine-type communications (mMTC) supports that a huge number of sensors connect to a base station.
Also, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) supports that each autonomous car communicates with its neighboring cars and pedestrians.

Such new applications emphasize the "congestion problem" in wireless communications.
In this problem, a larger number of connected devices cause more significant interference with each other and thus provide worse performance.

To overcome this problem, we challenge to analyze the impacts of the congestion problems in advanced wireless networks and propose new approaches to solve these problems.
One of the key approaches is self-organization observed in bio-inspired systems, like swarm controls.
Such systems provide each individual simply behaves but an advanced situation emerges in large-scale systems.
We will design self-organized control mechanisms for future wireless communications based on interesting insights through our congestion analysis.
