Theme

Biomolecular analysis and infomatics

Intracellular biomolecules such as DNA, RNA, proteins, and metabolites cooperate with each other to form a single biological system. However, many of the roles and significance of these molecules remain unclear. To elucidate how these molecules are involved in health and disease, we are developing technologies for comprehensive measurement of biomolecules using mass spectrometry and big data analysis techniques using informatics.

We are developing a methodology that can detect many unique molecules produced by intestinal bacteria using sensitive and comprehensive mass spectrometry.

We are trying to elucidate why cancer cells prefer inefficient glycolytic metabolism by combining 13C metabolic flux analysis and metabolic simulation.
