Theme
Principles, Models and Algorithms of Machine Learning and its Application to Scientific and Engineering Fields
Driven by the digital transformation (DX) of social infrastructure and the strong interest in the SDGs, the knowledge and technologies cultivated so far in information science are in a phase of accelerated expansion into various scientific fields, industries, and society in recent years. In particular, machine learning has become widely recognized as one of the most important fundamental information fields, underpinning AI technologies that are rapidly penetrating society, and is playing an indispensable role in the further development of increasingly sophisticated and diversified information infrastructures. In this laboratory, we will conduct fundamental research on new principles, algorithms, and models of machine learning, while implementing machine learning as an information system and applying it to various industrial and scientific fields while incorporating next-generation computing technologies and software engineering that have developed rapidly in recent years.
