Simulation for Measuring Diagnosis, Image Signal Processing
For a safe long-term use of an information system, its hardware must be properly manufactured exactly as designed, and measurements and diagnosis must be performed accurately to ensure that no abnormality has occurred in the system during operation. Nevertheless, as complexity and scale of information systems increases, diagnosis measurement is becoming more and more difficult: sometimes abnormalities are overlooked due to the difficulty of judgment as normal or abnormal behavior; sometimes even if an abnormality is detected, proper measures cannot be taken due to the impossibility of finding the causes.
Our research is meant to solve such problems. We have researched for efficient analysis techniques to extract information useful for measurement diagnosis from the obtained image or signal data, by performing evaluation considerations by physical simulation of the impact of various abnormalities towards the values measured using electronic microscopes. We have also applied these techniques to the biomedical field.
