I conduct research aimed at achieving a convenient, secure, and safe society by utilizing sensor data obtained from various IoT devices, such as smartphones, wearable devices, and sensors deployed in the environment. Depending on the application, the cost and accuracy requirements vary. Therefore, I design appropriate combinations of devices and data processing methods tailored to each situation.
In applications such as elderly monitoring and environment monitoring using a large number of IoT devices, I work towards the realization of 'Sustainable IoT,' meaning that they can be used continuously with reduced maintenance efforts, such as battery replacement. Additionally, I explore maintenance-free sensing methods, including activity recognition based on fluctuations in radio waves, such as Wi-Fi.
Through these efforts, I aim to contribute to practical research that addresses societal challenges.
