Various Procedures

Extension of period of stay

Persons who intend to continue to stay in Japan after the expiry date of their permitted period of stay must do perform extension procedures. We receive applications starting from three months prior to the expiry date of your stay. Please proceed as soon as possible.

How to apply

International students must first write an application using the "Form for the applicant" and to submit it to the graduates section together with a copy of his Residence Card (front and back).
Graduates section will write and stamp the application using the "Form for organization" and will return both documents to the applicant.

Required Documents

1. Application for Extension of Period of Stay (Application form)
Application form can be downloaded from Immigration Services Agency of Japan. Please check on the form "Student".

2. ID Photo (4cmx3cm) Attach on the 1st page of the application

3. Passport, Residence Card (or Alien Registration Card)

4. Required documents

Prepare the neceessary documents listed at Immigration Services Agency of Japan

Temporary leave to travel home country

If you will leave Japan temporarily to return to your home country, be sure to enter your travel information into the system.

Concerning the submission of the report
"Career after leaving the university"
(upon completion, withdrawal or study period end)

Foreign students who leave The University of Osaka, due to completion, withdrawal (including withdrawal by credit completion), research student period end or reduction, are required to submit to the Graduates Section a report concerning their "Career after leaving the university".

※ Except special auditors and special research student who return to their country after finishing their student exchange program.

Submission Term	Two weeks before graduation, withdrawal or period end.
